1. WHO WE ARE

Finance Fortress ("we", "us", "our") is a personal finance management application available at financefortress.co.uk. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect about you.

2. WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you register and use Finance Fortress, we collect:

Account data: Email address and encrypted password (or Google profile email if you use Google sign-in)
Financial data you enter: Debts, savings, income, outgoings — stored securely in your account and never shared or sold
Usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited
Cookie data: Session tokens and, with your consent, advertising and analytics cookies

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

To provide and operate the Finance Fortress service
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
To maintain security and prevent fraud
To improve the service based on anonymised usage patterns
To show contextually relevant advertising (with your consent)

      We never sell your personal or financial data to third parties. Affiliate links in the app are contextual — we earn a commission if you click through and purchase, but no personal data is shared with affiliate partners.
    

4. GOOGLE SIGN-IN

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address and basic profile information solely for the purpose of creating and identifying your Finance Fortress account. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts or any other Google services. You can revoke this access at any time via your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. SENSITIVE FINANCIAL DATA

Financial data you enter (debts, savings, income) is stored encrypted in our Supabase database with Row Level Security — only you can access your own data. We process this data solely to provide the app's functionality and do so on the legal basis of your explicit consent.

6. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure (hosted in the EU). All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Row Level Security ensures no other user or administrator can access your financial data. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. THIRD-PARTY LINKS & ADVERTISING

Finance Fortress contains affiliate links to third-party financial services. When you click these links, you leave Finance Fortress and their own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

We use Google AdSense to display advertising. With your consent, Google may use cookies to show personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised ads at google.com/settings/ads. For more information visit policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

We use Google Analytics (with your consent) to understand how users interact with the app. Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated. You can opt out via your cookie preferences.

8. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing Hello@financefortress.co.uk. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

9. YOUR RIGHTS (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restrict or object to processing
Data portability (export your data via Settings → Export Data)
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

10. COOKIES

We use the following cookies:

Essential cookies: Supabase session tokens stored in localStorage, required for login and account security. These are always active.
Analytics cookies: Google Analytics, used to understand usage patterns. Only set with your consent.
Advertising cookies: Google AdSense, used to show relevant ads. Only personalised with your consent — essential-only users see non-personalised ads.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser storage and revisiting the site.

11. CHILDREN

Finance Fortress is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at Hello@financefortress.co.uk.

      Finance Fortress is an entertainment and personal organisation tool only. It does not constitute regulated financial advice and is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. All calculations are estimates based on information you enter. Always consult a qualified independent financial adviser for personalised advice. 13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of Finance Fortress after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
